Truth about God (15)

The Importance of Faith—Finding Direction in God

At various stages of life, we often experience fear and confusion. This fear and uncertainty stem from not knowing the path ahead. In response, we turn to the internet for answers, seek advice from those around us, and follow the popular trends of the world. But is this truly the right path? Who should we be asking for guidance?

If there were someone who possessed all knowledge, understood all things, and even knew the future, wouldn’t we be willing to seek His counsel? The Lord Jesus is the One who knows all things. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7, NKJV). However, what we do after receiving His guidance is just as important.

What if the path God reveals to us is entirely different from the one we had hoped for? How would we choose? “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14, NKJV). The path God lays before us is always meant to lead us to life, yet it often contradicts the values of the world. When we relentlessly pursue wealth and material success, we should pause and reflect: “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26, NKJV)

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33, NKJV). This does not mean we cannot become successful or wealthy, but rather that we must discern what is truly most important. When we have a clear sense of direction and purpose, we will not be easily swayed by external influences. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21, NKJV)

When we rely on the Almighty, our life’s direction becomes clearer, our hearts grow in satisfaction and joy, and we find increasing peace within. For as Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, NKJV).
