Truth about God (13)

The Importance of Faith—Finding the True God in a Confused Era

In this confused era, have we lost the “dreams” we once had as children? Have we forgotten the direction we were meant to follow? Do we still remember our original purpose and “hope”?

As we grow, we “lose” many things along the way. When we were children, our emotions were always reflected on our faces, but as we grew older, our expressions began to mask our true feelings. Slowly, we lost the ability to express our most genuine emotions. Are the childhood friends we once cherished still by our side? Time and the journey of life may have created a distance between our hearts. When we meet again, will there still be the same openness between us? Gradually, we also lose the purest form of friendship. There was a time when it took very little to make us feel content—a box of candy, a simple gift, or a delicious meal. But now, even as our lives become more abundant, the sense of fulfillment in our hearts seems harder to satisfy. Many of the mindsets and habits we take for granted today are, in fact, the result of the subtle influence of the world around us. So how can we remain steadfast in the midst of this “fog,” unmoved by the world’s influences, and stay true to our original purpose?

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NKJV), When we navigate through the fog of night, only an unchanging lighthouse can guide us in the right direction. In this world, the only thing that remains unchanged through the ages is God, for “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV)

It is only when we come to know God and build our foundation upon the Rock that we can stand firm. By relying on God’s Word, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and continuous prayer, we can walk in the right direction. But merely knowing God is not enough.

We must also seek to understand Him—through studying the Scriptures and experiencing Him in our daily lives. Only when we grasp His will can we clearly recognize the traps and temptations of this world. Only then can we firmly hold on to what we have chosen to believe. It is only by walking with God every step of the way that we can truly see His reality: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6, NKJV)

If we place our hopes and dreams solely in this world, our desires will never be satisfied. Only God can truly fulfill and bring joy to our hearts, for He alone is the source and the end of all things.

There was once a man who held a high-ranking position as a manager in a foreign tobacco company. He had material wealth, yet, out of gratitude for the grace of the Lord Jesus, he gave up his high salary and started anew as a delivery worker.

The primary reason people seek religion and worship deities is to find peace. There are countless gods and religions in the world, but which one can truly grant us peace?

The attitude with which we worship God and the purpose for which we seek Him often determine our ultimate outcome!
