Tianlin’s reflection

In my everyday life, I am constantly trying different ways to share the Truth about God with my non-believing family members. This journey is fraught with challenges and hopes. When they become curious about faith and approach me with questions, I am filled with immense joy. However, their complete disinterest at times plunges me into despair and confusion. I often find myself fluctuating between these emotions.

During a recent Fall Evangelical Service and Spiritual Convocation (ESSC), I was comforted by the Holy Spirit, which greatly strengthened my faith. I realized that the hope of bringing my family to the Lord is not in vain. Romans 5:5 tells us, “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” This verse touched me deeply, affirming that with heartfelt actions and loving words, I can feel the power given by God and work alongside Him.

At the ESSC, I also heard the personal testimonies of many brothers and sisters. Their experiences reminded me that we should never give up, even when all seems lost. We can strive to create opportunities for our family to encounter God, to hear His word, and to join in fellowship. In this process, our great, gracious, and merciful God will touch their hearts in His timing.

From these experiences, I have learned patience and perseverance. I understand that the transmission of faith is not just through words but also through actions, attitudes, and selfless love. Whenever I feel disheartened, I recall the experiences and teachings from the ESSC, which fuel my determination to persist. I know that regardless of the outcome, I have given my best effort, and in the process, I am continuously growing and learning.

On this ongoing journey of exploration and learning, I have deeply felt that the seed of faith requires time and patience to nurture. I believe that with love and faith, the light of God will eventually shine into my family members’ hearts.  I surrender all to Jesus and I am determined to live a life that is more Christ-like.  Perhaps others, especially my family members, will be able to see Jesus through me.

Come join us as we strengthen our faith and shine for Him, especially for those we love.
