HaoXuan’s reflection

The fall 2023 ESSC had many thought-provoking moments for me, such as Pastor TJ Jung’s series of sermons on “What kind of people we should be” or Pastor Hwang’s sermons, among others. However, it was Amy’s testimony on the last day that made me reflect on myself once again.

Amy shared how God had been leading her throughout the pandemic, including in terms of personal safety and finances. Amy used to work in Chinatown, and during the pandemic, there was an incident when she was leaving her workplace to pick up something from her car parked on the street in Chinatown. At that moment, she heard a loud noise, and she initially thought it was firecrackers, so she didn’t pay much attention and went home. When she returned later, she discovered that the area where she had parked her car had been cordoned off by the police because there had been a shootout. It turned out that what she heard was gunfire. God had protected Amy from being frightened at that moment. Considering that Amy was in her seventies, being frightened could have had a series of adverse effects on her. But that’s not all—when she later checked the spot where her car had been parked, she found that a bullet had pierced through a utility pole at the exact location where her car was. So, Amy’s position had been extremely dangerous.

God’s protection for us is thorough. He not only safeguards our physical well-being but also takes into account its impact on our mental and emotional state. Many times, I’ve complained to God without realizing how He has safeguarded me in ways beyond my perception. God’s care is comprehensive. This testimony also shared how God miraculously and wonderfully guided her in her job during the pandemic, which was truly inspiring and beneficial for me.

I sincerely invite everyone to watch Amy’s testimony (7:09) shared during our fall ESSC. We will all find what we need in our life from it, and I invite you to join our church to study God’s word together. This ESSC has truly been a spirtually fulfilling experience for me.  I hope you will engage in our church activities and receive His blessings together.  Looking forward to meeting you.  Our address is as follows:
