Post Spring ESSC Reflections (4)

Walk of Guts & glory – a testimony on recognizing and taking the leap of faith

Praise be to God! I gave a testimony during the Spring Evangelical Service and Spiritual Convocation (ESSC) in April 2023 with gratitude. During my challenging three years in Shanghai, I grappled with despair, tirelessly engaged in activities that appeared fruitless towards my career or academic progress. Experiencing such torment in solitude was agonizing; sharing with family caused unnecessary worry and friends offered little solace. The absence of a true church exacerbated my condition, making it hard to ward off suicidal thoughts. That’s when I realized the necessity of belonging to a true church community.  (Click here for the video on the entire testimony.)

Yet, I believe every tribulation in life serves a purpose. Upon reflection, it becomes evident that our lives are interwoven with God’s benevolent intentions. Even when our desires remain unfulfilled, God, in His infinite wisdom, bestows upon us what’s best. Though we may not comprehend His plans initially, the passage of time unravels His benevolence. Echoing Paul’s words, “…but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope (Romans 5:3-4).” God makes all things work together for good for those who love Him. All the pains, frustrations, and setbacks that may seem overwhelming now, are being shaped by God’s hand into a beautiful tapestry of grace and blessings.

So, I invite you to join us on this remarkable journey of faith. A journey brimming with blessings, miracles, and heavenly wonders. Because when we walk with God, every step we take is part of a beautiful story being written by the greatest author of all, our God above.  Come join us in this journey by taking the first step in attending our service at the True Jesus Church, Chicago.
