There are moments when the harsh reality of life can weigh us down. Times when, no matter how hard we try, we can’t seem to recover, heal and strengthen our health condition. Moments when we struggle to hold onto the people we cherish as we watch them fade away physically. There are times when we face unrelenting physical pain and illness ourselves, even with the advances of modern medicine. We may also grapple with traumatic memories that have haunted us since childhood or feel unable to live without the numbing effects of drugs or alcohol.
In these moments, we can feel helpless, lonely, and depressed. When others try to comfort us, it can sometimes only add to our frustration, because they can’t truly understand what we’re going through or provide solutions to our problems. Even as Christians, we may cry out in prayer, asking, “Lord, how long must I suffer?” We may wonder if God is still there, and if He truly cares for us. In our darkest moments, we might question the reasons for living.
But remember, you are never alone. Even the mighty prophet Elijah felt overwhelmed and discouraged, believing that he had failed in his mission and that there was no hope for the future. Likewise, Jesus himself prayed fervently in the Garden of Gethsemane, asking the Father to let the cup of suffering pass from Him. He has walked the path of humanity, experiencing fear, sorrow, and the weight of impending death. He understands every bit of our struggles and cares for us deeply.
Our Heavenly Father knows the perfect timing and path for our lives. No loving parent wants to see their child suffer, and our Heavenly Father is no exception. He has promised us, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He is always here, waiting for us to turn to Him. Not only can He lead us through any tribulation and adversity, but He can also wipe away every tear from our eyes.
Let us stop fighting health and physical issues. Start giving in to God so He can help you. It starts with us humbling ourselves and admitting that we are not in total control of our lives. It takes patience, trust and humility. God is waiting there for you so reach out to Him. Let Him into your life and see how He can make you experience His infinite love, and the true purpose of your life.
Come, join us in turning to the One who understands our struggles better than anyone else. Let nothing hold us down any longer. Embrace the love, hope, and strength that can only be found in God.
