Find Family Balance with Us (6)

God plays a crucial role in our family. I honestly don’t know how I would educate my children if God were not in the picture. Why this is good and that is bad? Why should you do this and not that? The world is so diverse culturally, it seems there are no standards for anything anymore. Ultimately, the world is going towards absolute chaos and lawlessness. Morality becomes interpretational and optional, and laws can be revised and discarded depending on the regions and circumstances. But if one returns to God and his words, you find that God has thought everything through and gracefully guided us on what to do in the bible. And family is the root and foundation of everything. One is born in one, grows up in one, and continues and passes on in one. Everyone is shaped by the family they are born in. These are the verses that serve as anchors in our family. They can be cliché for Christians, but even more important is that we should constantly ponder upon what these verses mean and put them into practical applications in daily life. These verses never fail us in challenging times, and I am glad to share them with you:

  1. Proverbs 3:5-6:”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
  2. Ephesians 5:22-24: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.”
  3. Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
  4. Ephesians 6:1-3: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’ (this is the first commandment with a promise), ‘that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.'”

Having God at the center of family life helps us appreciate the blessings we have and humbles us during times of prosperity. It also provides comfort and guidance during challenging moments, teaching us to rely on God’s strength rather than our own. By rejoicing always, even in difficult times, we cultivate resilience and faith in God’s plan for our families. As we embrace God’s role in our family balance, we create a nurturing environment where love, forgiveness, and unity thrive.

Drawing inspiration from Biblical stories and personal reflections, this essay delves into the complexities of marriage, contrasting arranged unions with personal choices. Emphasizing God’s role in guiding marital paths, it underscores the sanctity of unions rooted in faith and divine intention.

Leaving for college not only catalyzed this church brother’s spiritual growth but also remarkably transformed his relationship with his parents, especially his mother, from mere parent-child dynamics to deep, supportive friendships rooted in shared faith. Despite challenges, mutual respect, enhanced by spiritual guidance, created a bond so profound that his home became an endearing haven after his college years.

Marriage is a journey of commitment, personal growth, and unwavering faith, with challenges met collaboratively through prayer and understanding. A successful union transcends traditional roles, emphasizing open communication, mutual respect, and shared spiritual pursuits, deepening the bond over time.
