Filling the Void Within—Overcoming Confusion
Reflecting on why I indulge in the virtual world, despite knowing it offers no real benefit to my life, I realized the confusion deep within me. I didn’t know which direction to head or felt unable to control my path, leading to a loss of goals and the courage to seek direction. But now, things are different!
Although I’m still unsure about the future, I now have a goal and have regained the courage to find my way because I’ve learned to trust in God. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Often, it’s our fear of the unknown and potential setbacks that keep us from taking that first step. But remember, God is all-knowing and all-powerful! However, how and with what attitude we seek God’s guidance is crucial.
Often, we don’t truly understand ourselves, but the omniscient God knows us completely. Therefore, when asking God, we need to learn humility and obedience. When we start to act according to our plans, if the path isn’t right for us or doesn’t please God, He will naturally guide us through various events and people. Will we still choose to go against the wind when we receive such signals? If we choose to obey and trust God, He will reveal the correct path to us. Of course, we also need wisdom to discern if this direction truly comes from God.
So, with an all-powerful and all-knowing Shepherd, what is there to worry about? “Faith without works is dead.” If I claim to believe but do not act, then I am merely lazy. With God in our lives, we need not be overly concerned, for “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” and this surely includes being free from confusion!
