My Story of Rebuilding the Wall (part 1)
I’m Nehemiah, I wasn’t just some guy—I was a cupbearer to the Persian king, which meant I had a pretty big deal job. But my heart? It was stuck on Jerusalem, miles away, all broken down and sad. It hit me hard, and I couldn’t just stand by. So, I spent days crying, not eating, and talking to God about it.
It was a long shot, but I asked the Persian king if I could go back to my hometown and fix it up. And guess what? He said yes! So, there I was, governor of Judea, getting my hands dirty, fixing walls, and getting my people back on track. Sure, we had some haters trying to mess with us, but we built those walls in just 52 days—can you believe that?
I did more than just build walls, though. I got our people back to following God’s rules, we let go of our slaves, and we got Jerusalem buzzing again. I even had to kick out some guy who was trying to mess up God’s house.
When I came back from a trip to Babylon, everything had gone sideways again. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got back to fixing things, just like before. My story’s not just about building walls; it’s about never giving up on doing what’s right, sticking with God, and being ready to step up whenever He calls.
That’s the real deal about my life: you keep your heart set on God, and no matter what comes your way, you can handle it.
