On the sixth day, God created humans in His own image, placed them in the Garden of Eden, and assigned them the tasks of tending and keeping it (Genesis 2:15).

God continued His work until it was fully accomplished, resting on the seventh day from all His work (Genesis 2:3). Yet, God’s spirit of work never waned; seeing that it was not good for man to be alone, He decided to create a helper for him (Genesis 2:18). God is always at work, striving towards perfection.

To Build Achievements on God’s Values

Today, work is a tug-of-war between accomplishment and emptiness. When God is with us, providing inspiration and creativity, work can shine and be appreciated, bringing a sense of achievement. As we feel satisfied with our achievements, we can almost see God at work.

God has a plan for everyone’s life, not just as an observer but as a participant. The extent of His role in our lives depends on how much we know and understand Him. In fact, the value created from work reflects the relationship between individuals and God. If the relationship is close enough to testify Jesus Christ with one’s life, bringing God’s values into the workplace and fully utilizing the gift of work, then we won’t sway between achievement and emptiness.

Fearless of Progress, Embracing Challenges

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalms 37:5). Perhaps you’re waiting for God’s response, only to find no bright light guiding the way forward. The reality is facing numerous challenges at work without quick answers. Some cannot forget past successes, while others are fixated on past failures, both of which can hinder progress. Realizing that our presence in this world is not by chance strengthens our belief to accept and grow from the challenges of competitive workplaces.

A preacher once encouraged, “If God gives you a colorful vision, don’t settle for black and white.” Christians should not fear the challenges of work. The work led by God should be challenging, but don’t misunderstand the meaning of “leading.” If you simply ask for God’s guidance and expect Him to make decisions for you, this guidance might turn into a revolving door, leaving you stuck in place.

Therefore, when we find an ideal work worth living and dying for, we should move forward bravely, and then we will hear God’s voice behind us saying, “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).

We warmly invite you to come to the True Jesus Church’s bi-annual Evangelical Service and Spiritual Convocation. See details below.

18-21 April 2024 Evangelical Service and Spiritual Convocation

Thursday, 18 April 2024 6:50PM to 8:10PM
Friday and Saturday, 19-20 April, 2024 9:00AM to 8:10PM
Sunday, 21 April, 2024 9:00AM to 1:00PM
Complimentary lunch and dinner will be served.

Please find our church location below:

True Jesus Church
4N550 Church Road
Bensenville, IL 60106
Google Maps

For online streaming, please click here.

For regular service hours, please click here.

Email us at ilovejesus@tjc-chicago.org

The Work Attitude of God God’s approach to work is to give it His all, operate on a schedule, and complete the beautiful creation of the world in six days (Genesis 1:31).
