At first glance, they seem very similar, yet deep down, are very different. Solitude arises from a personal choice \u2013 you choose to be alone, while loneliness is not by choice \u2013 you are alone, but you don\u2019t want to be.<\/p><p class=\"MarcomBody\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal;\">Before we dive into the topic of loneliness, let\u2019s take a step back and look at the bigger picture. <i>\u201cNow may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.\u201d (1 Thessalonians 5:23)<\/i> For us, human being, there are 3 aspects that need to be completed: body, soul, and spirit. The body addresses our physical needs, we desire health, food, shelter, and more. The soul encompasses our emotional needs, we want to feel satisfied, to belong, and most importantly, to feel loved. The spirit, however, is a different matter altogether; it pertains to our relationship with God, and only our Lord Jesus Christ can make it completed.<\/p><p class=\"MarcomBody\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal;\">When falling into loneliness, which of these 3 aspects do people often pursue? It is the body. People try hard to satisfy their fleshly desires \u2013 drinking, taking drugs, seeking sexual partners, and so on. Those who pursue the soul\u2019s needs often crave attention and love from others. Unfortunately, they end up chasing nothing but vanity. <i>(Ecclesiastes 1:3)<\/i><\/p><p class=\"MarcomBody\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal;\">So, how can we overcome loneliness? The solution is to complete our spirit in the Lord. <i>\u201cfor the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.\u201d (Revelation 7:17)<\/i><\/p><p class=\"MarcomBody\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal;\">By mending our relationship with God, our body and soul can also be sanctified and completed. Our spiritual needs run much deeper and are directly linked to our body and soul, and no human being but Jesus can touch and heal our wounds in the spirit.<\/p><p class=\"MarcomBody\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: normal;\">We encourage you to learn more about our <a href=\"https:\/\/tjc-chicago.org\/about\/basic-beliefs\/\">Lord Jesus Christ<\/a>, for He is the living fountain of water. Come join us so that you will not be alone on your journey of <a href=\"https:\/\/tjc-chicago.org\/spiritual-growth\/\">spiritual growth<\/a>.
