As a believer in the Lord for many years, I’ve heard countless sermons and testimonies, but have I truly lived out God’s word? When I did, was it willingly and with my whole heart?

“If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” (1 John 4:20) While I don’t think I hate my brother; I dare not say that I truly love my brother. I often told people that I would pray for my family’s faith, and I did pray for them. But what struck me during this ESSC was that what I called “putting my family’s faith in prayer” was actually a deliberate neglect of the issue. I could have done so much more in action. As a family member, I failed to realize what my sibling truly needed was to be loved. I blindly imparted what I thought was right and good to her but failed to recognize what she lacked the most – love (Thank God, a sister in the church pointed this out to me). When I asked myself, “Do you know how to love your sibling?” I had no answer. In the end, it is about love, for GOD IS LOVE.

During the final prayer at the ESSC, I knelt down, called out to God, and sought for His guidance on how to love my family and extended families better. Initially, it was a moment of repentance and acknowledging my hypocrisy and weakness before God. Then, I felt the burden on my shoulders being lifted. As I was still wondering, my heart resonated with one sentence: “Lord, use me and use me in your way.” That’s when I understand that God has His plans. But as a human being, I must act according to His will and do so whole-heartly.

May all the glory, praise, and power to the holy name of Lord Jesus Christ. May all of us be a useful vessel to the Lord. Most of all learn how to be so loving and caring that it touches, moves, and inspires others to be like Him. Come join us to grow and be better versions of ourselves by following Christ. Our church address is as follows:

True Jesus Church
4N550 Church Road
Bensenville, IL 60106
Google Maps

For online streaming, please click here.

For regular service hours, please click here.

Email us at ilovejesus@tjc-chicago.org

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (1)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (2)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (3)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (4)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (6)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (7)

Post Fall ESSC Reflections (8)

More to come

The most profound realization to me during this Fall Evangelical Services and Spiritual Convocation (ESSC) was that I felt like I had been slapped, not in my face, but in my heart.
