Therefore, learning effective emotional management is crucial.

Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: “And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ’s power may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

This passage has comforted countless believers, giving them strength to endure trials and hardships. It also teaches us that God does not expect us to be strong at all times, but rather to learn to rely on Him in our weakness.

When we find ourselves in moments of weakness, we can regulate our emotions through prayer, meditating on God’s word, or seeking counsel from spiritual mentors—all of which are highly effective methods.

Prayer

Before starting our work each day, we can commit everything to God in prayer—not only seeking His guidance but also interceding for our colleagues and supervisors. This not only brings peace to our hearts but also nurtures a heart willing to serve. Psalms 37:4-5 says: “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”

From my own experience, I make it a habit to arrive at work early and begin my day with prayer, asking for God’s protection over my tasks. As a result, whether managing large events or handling daily responsibilities, I often find solutions within God’s guidance, allowing my work to proceed smoothly.

Meditating on God’s Word

God’s will is revealed in the Bible: “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:2-3) Meditating on God’s word grants us divine wisdom, enabling us to succeed in all we do.

Take David as an example. During his years of fleeing from Saul, he faced immense stress and confusion—even seeking refuge among the Philistines at one point (1 Samuel 27:1). However, we see David continuously pouring out his sorrows to God in the Psalms, regaining strength through prayer: “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, ‘where is your God?’ Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the hope of my countenance and my God.” (Psalm 42:5, 10-11) In the end, David patiently waited for God’s timing, ascending to Israel’s throne and becoming a king after God’s own heart.

Likewise, in our own lives, we should follow the examples of biblical figures—learning, meditating on, and relying on God’s word to overcome our moments of weakness. As the psalmist says:
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.” (Psalm 30:11)

Seeking Spiritual Buddy for Listening and intercession

One of the greatest dangers during moments of weakness is isolating ourselves, sinking into discouragement, and cutting off communication with others. This does not help solve problems but instead gives Satan an opportunity to work against us.

It is beneficial to seek a spiritual friend, someone with whom we can share our struggles and pray together. Bringing our weaknesses before God with spiritual buddies can provide comfort and guidance.

Turning back to God does not only happen when we attend church. When we feel lost or weak in our studies, work, or daily lives, we need to return to Him even more. “Come, and let us return to the Lord. For He has torn, but he will heal us; He has stricken, but He will us up.” (Hosea 6:1) By learning to entrust our emotions to God and seeking His strength in our weakness, we can continue to grow in faith and stand firm in our spiritual journey.

Come and learn more about the Doctrine through bible study, sermons and fellowship.
