Firstly, the reality often seems to show we have received nothing. Secondly, if we truly have received it, is there any need to keep asking?<\/p><p>In fact, this verse refers to believing in receiving God&#8217;s promise. Since the God we believe in is faithful, He will surely fulfill His promise sooner or later (Deuteronomy 7:9; 2 Timothy 2:13). Moreover, He is the Almighty God (Genesis 17:1). Therefore, if we simply trust Him to fulfill His promise, we will certainly receive it. This type of faith is called &#8220;simple faith.&#8221;<\/p><p>Consider the following touching examples from the Bible:<\/p><ol><li><strong><b> The Centurion&#8217;s Faith<\/b><\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading:<br \/><em><i>&#8220;Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.&#8221;<\/i><\/em><br \/>And Jesus said, <em><i>&#8220;I will come and heal him.&#8221;<\/i><\/em><br \/>The centurion answered and said, <em><i>&#8220;Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, \u2018Go,\u2019 and he goes; and to another, \u2018Come,\u2019 and he comes; and to my servant, \u2018Do this,\u2019 and he does it.&#8221;<\/i><\/em><br \/>When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, <em><i>&#8220;Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!&#8221;<\/i><\/em>&#8230;Then Jesus said to the centurion, <em><i>&#8220;Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.&#8221;<\/i><\/em>\u00a0And his servant was healed that same hour. (Matthew 8:5-13 NKJV)<\/p><p>This is simple faith.<\/p><ol start=\"2\"><li><strong><b> The Nobleman&#8217;s Faith<\/b><\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p>There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. Then Jesus said to him, <em><i>&#8220;Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.&#8221;<\/i><\/em>\u00a0The nobleman said to Him, <em><i>&#8220;Sir, come down before my child dies!&#8221;<\/i><\/em>\u00a0Jesus said to him, <em><i>&#8220;Go your way; your son lives.&#8221;<\/i><\/em>\u00a0So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. As he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, &#8220;Your son lives!&#8221; Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, &#8220;Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.&#8221; So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, <em><i>&#8220;Your son lives.&#8221;<\/i><\/em>\u00a0And he himself believed, and his whole household. (John 4:46-53 NKJV)<\/p><p>How beautifully simple this nobleman&#8217;s faith was!<\/p><p>Let us build our families on the Word of God, making our homes a place where faith thrives and Christ\u2019s love reigns.
